EXCERPT:
In September, Gov. Gavin Newsom pushed emergency regulations to ban intoxicating hemp products in the state, as Cannabis Wire reported at the time. Those regulations are set to expire next month, and a coalition out of California wants to make sure that doesn’t happen.
The effort includes UFCW Local 135, the California Cannabis Operators Association, Infinite Chemical Analysis Labs, and the cannabis companies Embarc and March and Ash.
They published a white paper on Thursday titled The Great Hemp Hoax, along with a website hemphoax.com, where they released their findings on lab tested hemp products in the state.
For example, they found that some hemp edibles contained 32x the THC allowed in the adult use market, vapes with THC 268% above the legal limit, and a whole lot of synthetic forms of THC.
